The substrate materials in Collins cabinetry are either cabinet grade particleboard, cabinet grade melamine surfaced on both sides, or kiln dried poplar hardwood. The exterior surfaces are laminated with high-pressure laminate (HPL) in the color, pattern, and brand specified at the time of order. Formica, Wilsonart, Pionite, Nevemar, and Laminart brands HPL are all used by and available from Collins. All interior cabinet surfaces are black or white melamine which can be cleaned in the same fashion as the high-pressure laminate on the exterior cabinet surfaces.
Drawers are constructed of 1/2" vinyl-clad real wood with a durable laminated drawer bottom. The drawers are installed using ball-bearing, full-extension slides . premium quality drawer slides that will provide years of trouble free service. Cabinet doors, made from the materials specified above, are mounted to the cabinet with 32mm European style cup hinges manufactured by Blum. Chrome or brass spherical knobs or wire pulls are used on doors and drawers. Collins uses commercially available UL listed power-strips, metal electrical boxes, duplex receptacles, and covers from nationally known manufacturers. Curling iron holders are constructed from light gauge metal, flanged, and chrome plated. Blow dryer holders and Collins Clipper Pockets are molded plastic.
